Specific objectives

  • To design and implement a proof-of-concept adaptable serious game for language learning with a focus on the use of foreign languages in rich cultural settings; the game will be adaptable in terms of cultural aspects including transfer effects, pronunciation, communication practices in various countries and professional settings, and more as well as appearance and difficulty level
  • To integrate micro-worlds into language learning (Papert) aiming at facilitating focuses learning situates that follow business communication practices while removing unnecessary to the learner information
  • To support in-situ use of the serious game as a reference tool through mobile device support
  • To support both state-of-the-art touch-screen interfaces that help children better interact with a computer as well as traditional internet for reaching wide audiences
  • To ensure portability to a wide number of operating systems aiming at wide adoption
